En helt underbar antik tekanna från en tillverkare som hette Albion i ett mönster som heter Wilton. Det fanns flera tillverkare som kallade sig för Albion men den här kannan kommer från ägarna Mr E Bourne och Mr J E Leigh som höll till Burslem Stock-on-Trent i England. Företaget grundades 1892 och den ena ägaren lämnade 1913. Företaget bytte senare namn till Leighton Pottery. Den här kannan kommer troligen från 1800-talets slut och den har ett handmålat tillverkningsnummer som senare föremål inte har. Stämpeln slutade att användas 1920. Kannan är stor och mäter från pip till handtag 28,5 cm Den mäter från lockets knopp till botten ca 18 cm. Om man fyller den ända upp till kanter rymmer den 12 dl. Kannan är för sin ålder i ett mycket fint skick. Jag kan se att den varit obetydligt använd då förgyllningen är mer eller mindre intakt. Det finns inga skador utvändigt och märkena i locket ser ut att komma från tillverkningen. Det finns två små hack i öppningen, men det är allt. Det finns små krackeleringar i glasyren men även de är minimala. Sammantaget är skicket mycket gott.
Antique Teapot Albion from England No2
A wonderful antique teapot from a manufacturer called Albion in a pattern called Wilton. There were several manufacturers who called themselves Albion but this jug comes from the owners Mr E Bourne and Mr J E Leigh who were based in Burslem Stock-on-Trent in England. The company was founded in 1892 and one of the owners left in 1913. The company later changed its name to Leighton Pottery. This jug probably comes from the end of the 19th century and it has a hand-painted manufacturing number that later items do not have. The stamp stopped being used in 1920. The jug is large and measures 28.5 cm from spout to handle. It measures about 18 cm from the knob of the lid to the bottom. If you fill it all the way to the edges, it holds 12 dl. The jug is in very good condition for its age. I can see that it has been used insignificantly as the gilding is more or less intact. There is no damage on the outside and the marks on the lid appear to be from manufacturing. There are two small nicks in the opening, but that is all. There are small cracks in the glaze but even those are minimal. Overall the condition is very good.
