Beskrivning
Ett i det närmaste ett perfekt exemplar av en bibel utgiven av Adolf Bonniers förlag. Den är utgiven 1854, tio år efter att Carl XIV Johan hade avlidit men Drottning Desideria levde fortfarande. Den heter BIBLIA , det är all den Heliga Skrift, Gamla och Nya Testamentet. Bibeln är beställd för en person med initialerna E.A.N. Yttersidorna är i sammet med förgyllda blad . Bibeln hålls ihop med ett förgyllt fäste . Ursprungligen har det varit två men en sprint har fallit ut, antagligen för länge sedan och ett spänne har gått förlorat. Bibeln innehåller två gravyrer , ett för varje testamente och de har ett skyddsblad för att bilden ska bevaras. Inne i bibeln ligger ett sidenband med ett kors på. Bibeln ser helt oanvänd ut och har inga defekter inuti.
Adolf Bonnier 1806-1867 var Gerhard Bonniers äldste son och kom till Sverige från Köpenhamn för att etablera verksamhet här. Sedan 1782 var det tillåtet för judar att bosätta sig i Göteborg, Stockholm och Norrköping. Han kom till Göteborg 1827 och kom snabbt igång med ett lånebibliotek och öppnade senare en bokhandel. Han reste vidare 1829 till Stockholm och fortsatte att utveckla verksamheten där. Han fortsatte att utveckla verksamheten på flera olika platser i Sverige. Adolf dog 1867 61 år gammal och verksamheten togs då över av hustrun Sophie och sonen Isidor. Den här Bibeln är utgiven av den första generationen Bonnier i Sverige.
Antique Bible 1854 from Adolf Bonniers Förlag
A nearly perfect copy of a Bible published by Adolf Bonnier’s publishing house. It was published in 1854, ten years after Carl XIV Johan had died but Queen Desideria was still alive. It is called BIBLIA, it is all the Holy Scripture, Old and New Testament. The Bible was ordered for a person with the initials E.A.N. The outer pages are in velvet with gilded leaves. The Bible is held together with a gilded clasp. Originally there were two but a pin has fallen out, probably a long time ago and a buckle has been lost. The Bible contains two engravings, one for each testament and they have a protective leaf to preserve the image. Inside the Bible is a silk ribbon with a cross on it. The Bible looks completely unused and has no defects inside.
Adolf Bonnier 1806-1867 was Gerhard Bonnier’s eldest son and came to Sweden from Copenhagen to establish business here. Since 1782, Jews were allowed to settle in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Norrköping. He came to Gothenburg in 1827 and quickly got started with a lending library and later opened a bookstore. He traveled on to Stockholm in 1829 and continued to develop the business there. He continued to develop the business in several different places in Sweden. Adolf died in 1867 at the age of 61 and the business was then taken over by his wife Sophie and son Isidor. This Bible is published by the first generation of Bonniers in Sweden.
